The arrangements for the function were very impressive. The uniform of Gorgios was very beautiful. The great throne -room was turned into a kind of gymnasium. Great curtains of red and gold were hung along the walls. There were high swings of acrobats hung down with gilded ropes from the ceiling. There was also a row of neat hurdles on the polished floor.

The scene of inauguration was very attractive. There was a flood of lights. A band of musicians in pale green and golden dresses began to play sweet tunes. Gorgios was wearing a very splendid dress made of red velvet. Even the bright dresses of the ladies were put in shade before his matchless dress. His white hair and the red uniform of the Court acrobat were looking perfect. Everybody welcomed him and clapped for him.

8. What were the feelings of Gorgios on the occasion?
Gorgios had mixed feelings on the occasion. He was glad as well sad. He was glad that he had got his ambition. He also looked tired by his long patience and the work of a life time. He was now not as energetic as he was young. Both his parents had died. They were not there to welcome him. Naturally, he felt sad.

Gorgios achieved his ambition through hard work and determination. He did not use any short cut to get his ambition. It took him more than sixty years to do it. He struggled very hard and stuck to his ambition. He did not lose heart. He was not discouraged by the disappointing words of the people. At last, he succeeded in becoming court acrobat.
