Britain Exit (or Brexit) referendum to vote whether United Kingdom should remain a member of the European Union (EU) or leave it was held on June 23, 2016. A total 72.2% of the registered voters casted their votes and 51.9% of the casted votes were in favor of leaving the European Union.
Finally, UK left the European Union on 31 January 2020. There is now a transition period until 31 December 2020 during which the current rules will remain the same. The new rules will take effect on 1 January 2021.
