Dear Sir,

I would like to draw your attention to the prevailing horrific traffic condition in the city. The problem started only a few years ago and has become a nightmare for the commuters. The situation is expected to become worse even more.

Two years ago, the municipality introduced several U-turns mainly for the ease of traffic. However, the decision is proved to be a nightmare for the citizens. The roads are not wide enough and to take the U-turn the driver needs to cross lanes of traffic to complete the manoeuvre. It results in congestion on the roads and gridlocks at the city centre. Besides, as you may have also noticed, few traffic signals are also not functioning properly and usually aggravate the already pathetic traffic arrangements. I would also like to call your attention to the illegal parking around the central park.

Our lively city attracts thousands of tourists every year but the current traffic situation is earning a bad name. I would request to fix the traffic signals’ problems at your earliest in order to control the flow of vehicles and pedestrians to improve safety and access to roads. In addition, the municipality can reduce the number of U-turns step by step.
