Assessment is often categorized as either an objective assessment or a subjective assessment.
Objective assessment
Objective assessment is an assessment that has a single correct answer (or only one way of giving the correct answer). For example, multiple choice questions, true/false questions, fill in the blanks questions, etc.
Subjective assessment
Subjective assessment is an assessment that may have more than one correct answer (or more than one way of expressing the correct answer). For example, essay writing, precis writing, short note, etc.
