Greek City States
What the Greek Political Philosophers – Socrates, Plato and Aristotle – wrote and thought was result of their environmental context. They were from the city states of Greece. Among these city states, Athens drew ample attention for being ancient hub of agricultural activities, politics and education. Its political transition began from monarchy to aristocracy, then tyranny and at last ended in democracy. The Greeks didn’t consciously or intentionally create city states. In fact, they evolved with time. City state mentality was bar to unification of all; just as nationalism is today.
