Patient Transfer Service

Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif on June 6, 2017 launched “Patient Transfer Service” (PTS) to transport patients from lower health unit to higher health facility across the province.

The ambulances will operate 24 hour and provide free transportation to the patients. Ambulance service desks have been established to coordinate between the health facilities so that proper treatment facilities are lined up for the critical/emergency patient. A total of 500 ambulances have been overhauled and all state-of-the-art requisite facilities have been installed to cater to the medical needs of the patients. The ambulances are placed at the disposal of Rescue 1122 Service to operate them in line with their standards.

This facility was started in February 2017 on trial basis, and now it is working properly in all over the Punjab province. The data of this service will help the government to understand the requirements of each health facility in the province.
