Define Workgroup computing. Give its two disadvantages.

Workgroup Computing
A group of persons working together on a particular task and sharing information through computer network is called workgroup. The process of sharing information among various members of workgroup through computer network is called workgroup computing. It is also known as collaborative computing.

Disadvantages

  • Need to setup account and password on each and every machine. Passwords can become out of sync, if changed on one computer and not others.
  • No easily scalable. If using more than 10 computers, the number of accounts to set up increases a lot more time required to setup for new users.
