Plato
Plato was a Greek philosopher who was born in around 428 B.C. in Athens, Greece. He was student of Socrates and the teacher of Aristotle.
Plato was founder of the Academy in Athens, Greece, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world and helped to lay the foundations of Western philosophy and science.
Most of Plato's writings are in Socratic Method style where dialogues among people are presented with Socrates as the central figure.
It is unclear the degree to which Socrates is hidden behind Plato. However, it is widely believe that Plato's early writings including apology, Crito and Phaedo provided a faithful picture of Socrates' philosophical ideas.
