  • Kashmir is a disputed region between India and Pakistan since 1947.
  • In a suicide attack on 14 February 2019, 40 Indian security personnel were killed in Indian administrated Kashmir. India blamed Pakistan based organization for the attack.
  • On 26 February 2019, Indian air force crossed the line of control (LOC) that divides Indian and Pakistani administrated Kashmir and dropped bombs in an uninhabited area. It caused no damage or casualty.
  • On 27 February 2019, Pakistani air force crossed the LOC and dropped bombs near Indian military bases. It also caused no damage or casualty. However, one Indian MiG-21 warplane tried to chase the Pakistani JF-17 thunder and was shot down at the LOC. The Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman remained safe and landed in the Pakistani side and was captured.
  • Pakistan released the pilot on 1st March 2019.
