European Union (EU)
The European Union (EU) is an economic and political union of European countries. The EU's working capital is Brussels, Belgium.
Currently the European Union has 28 member states. Croatia has become the 28th member of the European Union on 1 July 2013. The Euro currency is used by 19 out of 28 EU members. Lithuania has become the 19th member of the Eurozone by joining the zone on 1 January 2015.
In a referendum held on 23 June 2016 in UK, 52% of the votes casted were in favour of leaving the European Union. At present UK is under process to leave the EU. However, it will take at least two years to complete this process.
