National Health Program

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif launched the National Health Program in federal capital, Islamabad, on December 31, 2015, in the AJK capital, Muzaffarabad, on February 25, 2016, and in Baluchistan’s capital, Quetta, on May 2, 2016.

Talking about the program, the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said,

It is a step forward towards making Pakistan a real welfare state.

Currently, people who are living in 23 priority districts and earn less than Rs.210 a day are the beneficiaries of PM National Health program. Under the program, treatment would be offer at both public and private hospitals with Rs.50,000 on PM’s cards for treatment of common illnesses and Rs.250,000 for treatment of serious medical conditions.

The National Health Program has been launched inĀ Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Quetta, Kotli, Skardu, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal, Narowal, Sargodha, Lasbela, Loralai, Kech, Diamer, Bajaur Agency, and Khyber Agency.
